Voice Lessons

Located in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Thea’s private studio is geared toward helping middle school, high school, and college students discover the power and beauty of their unique voices.

Thea has been a professional singer for over twenty years, specializing in opera and art song. She received her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and has extensive training in acting, movement, and diction. With a broad knowledge of classical and contemporary repertoire, Thea brings refined musicality, warmth and compassion to each lesson.

Musical theater was her first love and she enjoys helping students:

  • build a vocal technique that allows for healthy singing in any musical genre

  • prepare for upcoming auditions

  • learn new roles for school performances or professional engagements

  • improve musicianship

  • cultivate stage presence

  • develop breath control and vocal stamina

  • become compelling and communicative storytellers

  • sing in multiple languages, including French, Italian, and German

  • manage performance anxiety

  • make music with confidence and joy

Students register for regular, weekly lessons on a term basis.

Three terms are offered per year:

Fall (September-December)

Spring (January-May)

Summer (June-August)

Thea also offers drop-in and semi-regular lessons for singers with specialized goals, such as preparing for upcoming auditions, and for emerging professionals looking for repertoire or performance coaching.
